Worcester badminton club is a friendly group of people who meet twice a week to play competitive badminton. The club has been running for over 20 years and continues to seek new players, especially ladies to keep its current premiership status.

If you're looking for a friendly club in the Worcester area to play competitive, high standard badminton in a relaxed atmosphere then we're the club for you.
We ofen get emailed questions about the club, the main ones are answered below. However there's no better way to find out about the club than to come along and have a go! If you have further questions then feel free to get in touch.
Can I try out the club before joining?
Yes you can. Just come along, we charge a visitors fee of £4 which we deduct from your membership fee if you join. You can visit 3 times.

When does the club meet?
We play on: Monday 20:30 - 22:30 and Wednesday 19:30 - 22:00. We play from September up until Easter.

Do you play in the Worcester Badminton Leagues?
We have seven teams in the Worcestershire League, 3 Men's, 1 Ladies', 2 Mixed and 1 Veteren's Team. You can see how they are getting on at here.
How much does it cost to join the club?
The membership fee is £120. (Juniors £60)
Can beginners join the club?
Unfortunately we don't have a beginners section of the club.
What type of shuttles do you use?
Feathers! We usually use Yonnex Aerosensa 30s but are testing other at the moment.

Worcester Badminton Club not only strives to play competitive badminton, but also enjoys a variety of social activities which include:
- Curry Nights
- Ten pin bowling
- Summer BBQ
- Quiz nights
The club also gets together for an annual weekend trip to Devon, following the badminton season. The weekend offers activities such as crazy golf, archery, tennis, badminton, swimming, laser clay pigeon shooting, croquet on the lawn (with a glass of pimms! ) and much much more... And let's not forget the all inclusive buffet breakfast, lunch and 3 course dinner with a fully stocked bar...!

In the papers
Season 2010/11 began the relegation battles between clubs in the Worcestershire League. We were challenged by several teams for our existing position in the higher divisions but were victorious in all matches!
Our mixed 1 team even made it into the local paper...!

If you want to improve your badminton skills, this is the club for you...
We play at Tudor Grange Academy in Worcester on Saturdays 11:00 - 12:30pm where experienced league players will be on hand to provide guidance on shots, tactics and match play. All abilities welcome, from beginners upwards and qualified coaches are available to provide formal coaching if required.
Cost per sesion - £4
Juniors under 12 - £2 (Parental supervision is required for any player under 18 years)

| Summer club |
Our summer club is a group of people from Worcester Badminton Club, who get together on a weekly basis to continue playing throughout the summer months. There is an additional weekly cost for this club as it is an extension to the regular season, and is therefore not covered by the annual joining fee.
We play on Wednesday evenings 9.00pm usually at Perdiswell Leisure Centre in Worcester using feather shuttles, and welcome any visitors that wish to play competitive badminton.
The cost is £4.00 per person, payable each evening and like our main club you will be invited to join following your 3rd visit.

Please note - Anyone who joins the summer club will not automatically become a member of Worcester Badminton Club. If you are a member of Worcester Badminton Club you will be eligible to play at the summer club if you wish.
